Message From Marian

Greetings Church Family,

I was so uplifted by the Youth Worship Team this past Sabbath. It is exciting to see these young ones grow from “littles” to young men and women, not only in their musical ability, but more importantly in their spiritual lives. I am looking forward to the next time they lead us in worship on June 16.

We praise God that He has seen fit to allow us to offer summer camp sponsorships for our Red Willow children and youth for another year. As was the case last year, we have limited funds available and they will be disbursed on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to have your child or children sponsored, you MUST FIRST register them with me through the office email, office@redwillow.org or you can catch me after church service.

Please join us for our monthly Finger Food Potluck this Sabbath! Bring food to share, such as small sandwiches, cheese buns, wraps, cake, cookies, fruit, vegetables, or chips and dip. Please bring items sliced, plated and ready to put on the table. And please take care of your own containers and take them home with you. No food that requires heating up please, as we have a minimal kitchen crew working on potluck days. We’d like to celebrate the fellowship and community that comes with everyone participating and give our hard-working kitchen crews a break.

Still have your bottle from our Baby Campaign for the Pregnancy Care Centre? It’s not too late to see your change become part of the lives of the clients that access the Pregnancy Care Centre’s ministry. If you forgot to bring your bottle last Sabbath, you can return it to the church this coming Sabbath or drop it off at the Centre anytime, M-F from 9 to 4 located at 11223 – 100 Avenue. If you don’t get a chance to fill your bottle in the next few weeks, please return it anyway so it can be used next year!

This is our last call for building a community through a photo directory. The alternate site, St. Charles RC Church, that was listed two weeks ago decided to move their photo session dates to the fall. As a result, the photography company has provided us with two other alternate sites, if you were unable to attend the March photo sessions we conducted here at Red Willow. So, you still have an opportunity to become part of our directory. You may attend photo sessions at the following locations: Sturgeon Valley Baptist Church, 51 Woodlands Road, St. Albert (780-458-3777), May 28-31 from 2:30-7:30pm and Zion Baptist Community Church, 9802 76 Avenue NW, Edmonton (780-433-8756), on June 6-8 from 2:30-7:30pm. Call ahead and on arrival let the photographer know that your are from Red Willow and he will give you a cross over sheet to fill out.

The Women’s Outreach (Van) Ministry is in need of the following items: water bottles, toiletries, bras, underwear, socks, chocolate/candy snacks and deodorant. Items can be dropped off in the church foyer beside the Food Bank boxes. Because we collect for a number of ministries, please label your donation Van Ministry. Thank you all for your wonderful support of this ministry. If you would like more information on how to support or get involved with this ministry, contact Tracey Boller at tmerrett@hotmail.com.

Remember that there is now a new, easier and perhaps more convenient way to donate your tithes and offerings. The Adventist Giving App is now available in the App Store for those of you who would like to donate online using your cell phone.

The Hymningbirds, a group committed to serving Edmonton’s homeless and impoverished, are conducting the Ultimate Action Pack Fundraiser. Percentage of sales will go directly to their ministry. See details at www.hymningbirds.org. For more information please call Dini at 780-721-2209, Tracy at 780-921-3388 or text 780-695-0136.

The Prayer and Encouragement ministries at RWCC are two very important aspects of Pastoral Care. If you are in need of prayer or would like to be added to the prayer chain, please email Donna Kutzner (wildon@albertacom.com). Likewise, if you are aware of anyone that is in need of encouragement, please contact Ona Marques (ona560@gmail.com).

There is an upcoming event that I would like to bring to your attention.

The Coralwood Adventist Academy Class of 2019 will be hosting a Spring Concert on Sunday, June 24 at 6pm here at RWCC for their class trip fundraiser. Tickets are $5 for youth, ages 20 and under, and $10 for adults, age 21+. Please call Bernice at 780-200-6093 for tickets.

Until next week. . .

Blessings,
