Message from Marian

Greetings Church Family,

I was certainly challenged by Pastor Dan’s sermon last Sabbath in regards to bold prayers! And I am spurred on in boldness as I consider the prayer of the Jesus followers in Acts 4:29, “Now, Lord,… enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” May the Lord of all strength infuse each of us with the courage and determination of the early church to proclaim the risen Lord!

We praise God that He has seen fit to allow us to offer summer camp sponsorships for our Red Willow children and youth for another year. As was the case last year, we have limited funds available and they will be disbursed on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to have your child or children sponsored, you MUST FIRST register them with me through the office email, office@redwillow.org or you can catch me after church service.

Join us for Breakfast at Church this coming Sabbath! From 9-10am we will have time to enjoy great food and fellowship. Bible study follows at 10am in the Fireside Room or the back classroom. Please, invite your family and friends! And Breakfast at Church Sabbaths are also our Take Them Home Sabbaths where we feed you for breakfast and you feed visitors and friends for lunch. Plan now to invite someone home this coming Sabbath for lunch to share a meal, fellowship and blessings!

Still have your bottle from our Baby Campaign for the Pregnancy Care Centre? It’s not too late to see your change become part of the lives of the clients that access the Pregnancy Care Centre’s ministry. If you forgot to bring your bottle last Sabbath, you can return it to the church this coming Sabbath or drop it off at the Centre anytime, M-F from 9 to 4 located at 11223 – 100 Avenue. If you don’t get a chance to fill your bottle in the next few weeks, please return it anyway so it can be used next year!

Thank you for your gift to the ADRA Canada Disaster and Famine Relief Offering last Sabbath. Your compassionate donations will be used to assist the vulnerable and at risk around the world. Learn more about ADRA’s projects by visiting www.adra.ca or calling toll-free 1-888-274-2372. Thank you for your efforts to support this ministry. Together, we are changing lives!

Endeavouring to build community, we recently made arrangements to have a photo directory prepared. If you were unable to attend the March photo sessions, you still have an opportunity to become part of the directory. You may attend photo sessions at the following location: St. Charles RC Church, 17511-112 Street, Edmonton (780-456-5399), May 22-25 from 2:30-8:30pm. Just let the photographer know that you are from Red Willow and he will give you a cross over sheet to fill out.

Remember that there is now a new, easier and perhaps more convenient way to donate your tithes and offerings. The Adventist Giving App is now available in the App Store for those of you who would like to donate online using your cell phone.

The Hymningbirds, a group committed to serving Edmonton’s homeless and impoverished, are conducting the Ultimate Action Pack Fundraiser. Percentage of sales will go directly to their ministry. See details at www.hymningbirds.org. For more information please call Dini at 780-721-2209, Tracy at 780-921-3388 or text 780-695-0136.

The Prayer and Encouragement ministries at RWCC are two very important aspects of Pastoral Care. If you are in need of prayer or would like to be added to the prayer chain, please email Donna Kutzner (wildon@albertacom.com). Likewise, if you are aware of anyone that is in need of encouragement, please contact Ona Marques (ona560@gmail.com).
